Neighbor to Neighbor: Coping in Today's World

Sep 21, 2010

The American Red Cross is offering free workshops to Gulf Coast residents this fall.  The new workshop, Coping in Today’s World: Psychological First Aid and Resilience for Family, Friends and Neighbors, is designed to help you increase resilience and build on existing strengths.  You’ll also learn how to help children and adults cope with the stress of  the oil spill combined with the hardship from previous hurricanes.

The Red Cross workshops will be taught by specially trained and licensed counselors.  Participants will learn to identify stress symptoms and help neighbors and loved ones cope with life’s everyday challenges.  Participants will be given a free resource handbook to take home.

Participants must be at least 18 years old.

Workshops are limited to 10 - 25 people, so please RSVP no later than 10 days prior to the date.

The free sessions are open to the public!
